We train residents to use a prosthesis with confidence and comfort so that they can return to the highest level of function possible, as well as regain their quality of life.

Comprehensive Care

Our amputee program addresses all aspects of care, including: treatments to improve wound healing and stump care; activities and therapy to improve motor skills and restore the resident to daily living activity; exercises that promote muscle strength, endurance and increase control; effective pain management and treatment for phantom pain; emotional support to help residents readjust to a new body image; training in the use of a prosthetic, as well as prosthetic care; and patient and family education in the area of home safety.
